MeetCute Child Safety Standards

Updated: September 16, 2026

This document begins with the risks. Once a minor steps into an adult social space, harm rarely takes months to form; it hides inside a few exchanges, a single migration to private messaging, or one screenshot forwarded onwards. Four typical risk paths are broken down below, followed by the means we use to keep risk outside, how risk that has already materialised is found, and what we do once a violation is confirmed. Whether you come to this document as a user, a parent, a guardian or a regulator, the complete arrangement is set out here.

Part One — Seeing the risks clearly: four typical paths that draw minors in

Path 1: age disguised, entry into an adult social space
A minor borrows another person's identity details, falsifies a date of birth, or enters the platform on the reasoning that "I merely look young", and is thereby exposed to approaches, invitations and emotional pressure from adults. The reverse risk exists as well: an adult user poses as a peer in order to reach a minor who has already slipped inside.

Path 2: contact opened under the guise of recruitment or part-time work
Scripts such as "online modelling audition", "game boosting recruitment", "weekend part-time assistant" or "fan group moderator" are used to lower a minor's guard, after which photographs, identity information or an offline meeting are sought.

Path 3: moving the conversation off the platform
Once a chat is steered onto an outside messaging tool, the platform's field of view is cut off at once, and reporting and interception lose their purchase. The steer usually arrives with phrases such as "this is not the place to say it" or "add my other number".

Path 4: images demanded and passed on
Photographs, voice notes and videos obtained through coercion or inducement are forwarded, spliced together or used as leverage without the person's knowledge, and the harm travels from online into real life.

Part Two — Zero tolerance: the line that may not be touched

Towards child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), MeetCute applies a zero-tolerance policy. Applicable laws and regulations, together with Google Play's child safety requirements, are strictly observed by us; the form in which content appears, the language used and the extent of its circulation offer no grounds for lowering that standard.

The conduct below is strictly prohibited, and no exemption follows from its occurring in a private chat, a group or any other non-public setting:

  1. producing, uploading, disseminating or storing any content involving child sexual abuse or exploitation;
  2. approaching a minor under the name of a "modelling audition", "boosting recruitment" or "fan assistant" and seeking photographs, identity information or an offline meeting;
  3. publishing or forwarding sexualised images, text, voice notes or reaction stickers that involve a minor;
  4. inducing a minor to leave guardianship, attend an appointment alone or run away from home;
  5. posing as a peer through a false age in order to grow close to a minor;
  6. requesting a minor's home address, school, guardian contact details or other personally locatable information.

Where this standard is breached, once a violation is confirmed, we act immediately. The specific measures appear in the Response part below.

Part Three — Prevention: keeping minors on the outside

The age threshold is the gate standing furthest forward, and the measures below are maintained continuously so that it stays effective and tight:

Part Four — Detection: how risk that has already occurred is found

Automated screening and human reviewers operate side by side, holding both the content and the conduct found on the platform under ongoing scrutiny:

Leads touching child safety are dispatched and reviewed on a priority basis, and the progress of handling can be reported back to whoever raised the lead.

Part Five — Response: handling after a violation is confirmed

The severity of the measure matches the severity of the conduct. An offending account may face:

Leads involving minors are handled ahead of ordinary violation reports. Once handling concludes, the reporting party may ask us about the outcome; where confidentiality or an ongoing investigation prevents disclosure of detail, we will explain why. Where a lead points to immediate physical danger in the real world, we cooperate as the law requires and suggest that the reporting party contact the local police or a child protection agency at the same time.

Part Six — Reporting: two parallel channels

Channel one: reporting inside the application
Should a suspected minor's account, content causing harm to children, or harassment or inducement aimed at a minor come to your notice, the in-app reporting function accepts the lead: open the other party's profile page or the chat window, tap "Report", choose the category "Involving minors / child safety", and follow the prompt to attach screenshots or a written description. Anonymous submission is accepted just as readily.

Channel two: reporting by support email
Where the in-app channel is inconvenient, or where the lead comes from a parent, guardian or regulator, please write to service@meetcute-chat.com, setting out the account involved, the time of occurrence, the form of the content and any screenshots as fully as possible. Once a report arrives we review it promptly and take the necessary measures the circumstances call for.

Part Seven — Cooperation: parents, guardians and law enforcement

Where a parent or guardian discovers that a minor is using MeetCute, the account details and an explanation of the guardianship relationship may be submitted through the email above, and we will give that account priority once verification is complete. For leads suggesting a criminal offence, we cooperate with the investigation of the police and other authorities with jurisdiction as the law requires, providing necessary information and records to the extent the law permits.

Part Eight — How information relating to minors is handled

Because minors are prohibited from using this Application, children's personal information is not actively gathered by us. Where information relating to a minor reaches us through an incorrect entry, a fraudulent registration or another unforeseen cause, once this is confirmed we delete the relevant information, restrict the account concerned from further use of the Application, and examine similar risks so that recurrence is prevented. Such handling follows the MeetCute Privacy Policy as well.

Part Nine — Technical cooperation with third-party safety services

To strengthen safety capability, third-party services are integrated, such as Sift (risk and fraud detection) and Spectrum Labs (harmful content detection). Every partner must observe applicable data protection requirements and process data only to the extent its service requires.

Part Ten — Continuous improvement and how to contact us

Changes in legislation, updates to Google Play platform policy and the evolution of industry safety standards are tracked by us continuously, and age verification, content moderation and report handling improve in step with them.

Questions, suggestions or complaints about this standard, the measures protecting minors, or the outcome of related handling are welcome through the following channels:
